During an Instagram live session, Indian Cricket Team’s skipper Virat Kohli has let his fans know about his best experience playing against former South African batting poweress, AB De Villiers. In return, De Villiers also lets him know about his favourite knock against India.
Talking about his first Test series as a player in the South African soil, Kohli said, “In 2013, the first test in the series, I got a century in the first inning and 96 in the second. I got out to JP in the second and I still can’t believe that.”
Further, Kohli talked about how he handeled Dale Steyn, who was then bowling at his peak, he said, “Dale was at his peak, he was going at me. He kept chipping away at me. I pulled one and after that Dale didn’t say anything to me.”
Replying to him, AB De Villiers came up describing his best innings against Kohli, when South Africa came to India for a 5 match One Day series.
Taking about his series defining knock at Wankhede, ABD said, “It was 2-2, we always wanted to win a series in India. I was incredibly motivated as captain to do something special. We had some young kids and I felt that I needed to inspire them. We opened the door and it went to mumbai. It was a great wicket. If we had 350, you guys would have won the series. Faf got a century.”
However, Both players play together for IPL franchise Royal Challengers Banglore, where Virat is known as the Run Machine and Ab De Villiers as Mr.360°. Apart from the on field rivilary on field Internationally, both these players are great friends off the field.
