“Taking precautions is very necessary” – Virat Kohli urges citizens to follow COVID-19 protocols

The number of COVID-19 cases have been on the rise and wreaking havoc around the world. India has been the worst affected with over 8 lakh cases in just the past three days alone. Various states have taken different measures amidst this trouble point of time, with restrictions, lockdowns and the like, but the virus is showing no signs of stopping. Therefore, each person taking precautions is the need of the hour.

In that regard, Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has voiced out his message to citizens of India in a video shared by Delhi Police, urging them to follow all protocols. The skipper is currently taking part in the Indian Premier League (IPL) which is taking place through bio-bubbles in India. His side Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are sitting pretty on the top of the table in the tournament at the moment.

Delhi Police posted a video today of Virat Kohli which they captioned, “VIRAT KOHLI @imVkohli Team India Captain appeals to citizens to observe #covid protocol & #lockdown to fight the current wave. Wear a mask, keep social distance & hand hygiene. Cooperate with #DelhiPolice & behave responsibly, he says, for victory over corona as #IndiaFightsBack”

Kohli can be seen saying in the video, “As you all know, Covid cases are on the rise in India again. If you’re venturing out for essential services, please wear a mask. Please maintain social distancing. Please keep sanitizing your hands. Taking these precautions is very necessary.”
