India captain Virat Kohli, Vice-captain Rohit Sharma and Tennis Champion Sania Mirza were among the sports characters who come forward to help raise funds by an online concert to fight against coronavirus.
“iFor India” is a huge concert that helps raise funds for the Indian Covid Response Fund in which actors, musicians, singers, sports person and business features.
The revenue from the concert will go directly to the India COVID Response Fund arrange by GiveIndia.
“Two weeks ago, we started work on India’s biggest concert. To entertain people who are locked-down at home. To pay tribute to those who work on the frontlines while we work from home. And to raise funds for those who have no work and no home,” a message from #IForIndia, the concert for our times, said.
The others who supported the concert include, Kohli’s actress wife Anushka, Shah Rukh Khan, AR Rahman, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurrana, Bryan Adams, Gulzar, Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Ranveer Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam, Sophie Turner, Zoya Akhtar and Vidya Balan.
There are stars across globally also joining in, such as couple Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, brothers Kevin and Joe Jonas, Mick Jagger, Mindy Kaling, Jack Black, Russell Peters and Will Smith.
The concert was started from May 3 on Sunday at 5.30 pm which lives streamed online on Facebook and it runs for four hours.
