


Former World Champion Viswanathan Anand suffered his 6th consecutive defeat with 2-3 loss to Lan Nepomniachtchi of Russia in Legend of Chess Tournament.

Anand started the sixth round with a draw of 53- moves. However, Nepomniachtchi went ahead with a 34-move win in the second game.
The third game was in the favour of Lan after 48 moves. The five-time world Champion claimed the fourth game in 42 moves to put the contest in Armageddon(a tie-breaker).
In the last round Nepomniachtchi won the tie-break with 41 moves. World Champion Magnus Carlsen topped the standings with 17 match points while Nepomniachtchi is in second position.
Anand lies in ninth position with 3 points. Carlsen, Ding Liren, Nepomniachtchi and Anish Giri are the semifinalists at the Chessable Masters (part of the Magnus Carlsen Tour).
