Today, the World Anti Doping Agency celebrates the Play True Day. It is dedicated to the cleanliness of sport and is also aimed at raising awareness among athletes, the public who support the sports and to others about the importance of it.
WADA said in a statement about the day “The inspiration for Play True Day stems from a WADA-hosted education conference in 2013, which was attended by 17 Latin American countries. While the celebration started as a small Latin America initiative, last year, the agency’s digital and social media campaign reached over six million people with numerous individuals and organizations taking part from around the globe.”
After Seeing the situation around the world due to The novel Corona virus WADA seized the opportunity to engage the whole world in global anti Doping community in the fight to protect clean sport.
The president of WADA, Witold Banka thanked the health care workers and all others who are working selflessly to fight against the crisis which has taken many lives.
He further added and told about the global team effort on play true day and remain well prepared for the day when anti doping returns to full force. We hope by working together we will navigate this difficult moment in history.
