On Sunday, all rounder Vijay Shankar said that he was not able to get into his domestic side as a spinner and this promoted him to become medium pacer.
In an Instagram live session, Vijay Shankar conversed with Australian batsman David Warner. They both talked with each other from the official handle of the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. Warned asked Shankar why he switched bowling as a medium pacer?
“I was not able to get into my domestic team when I was the spinner, I used to score runs but I did not manage to get into the side. Then I started bowling medium pace, and things really changed for me,” Shankar told Warner during the Instagram Live session.
In 2019 Shankar played his last match for India against West Indies at Manchester. After that he was injured in 2019 World Cup and since the he did not play any match for India.
Shankar has played 19 matches in Sunrisers Hyderabad in his entire career. He scored total 345 runs with his highest score 63 not out. As a bowler he took only one wicket in the 2019 season.
Due to coronavirus pandemic situation, IPL has been postponed which was scheduled to start from March 29.
