India vs England 2021: Twitter reacts as third umpire makes controversial call on Washington Sundar’s dismissal

Controversy with regard to the third umpire erupted not once but twice during the fourth T20I between India and England as first Suryakumar Yadav was deemed to be out due to the soft signal being out despite the fact that some angles showed Dawid Malan, the catcher, to have grassed the ball. The second instance was Washington Sundar‘s dismissal when Adil Rashid at third man seemed to have touched the boundary rope while catching.

In the last over bowled by Jofra Archer, Washington Sundar had inside edged his first ball for a four before upper-cutting a short delivery towards third man. Adil Rashid took the catch precariously close to the boundary line and replays showed that it was extremely close as well. Due to the soft signal being out, the third umpire decided to stay with the same call and sent Sundar on his way.

Here is how Twitter reacted to the call.
