The two players engaged in a heated verbal exchange and Jagadeesan flashed his middle-finger multiple times before walking back to the dug-out.

Baba Aparajith and N Jagadeesan

Tamil Nadu Premier League has started with a fiery clash between the Chepauk Super Gillies and Nellai Royal Kings on Thursday, June 23. In the first match itself, fans saw something “disgusting”. A “mankad” dismissal of N Jagadeesan made the batsman show his middle-finger to the bowler Baba Aparajith.

Aparajith was well within his rights to dismiss Jagadeeshan because mankading is a legitimate dismissal. The bowler even gave Jagadeesan an indirect warning once. The two players engaged in a heated verbal exchange and Jagadeesan flashed his middle-finger multiple times before walking back to the dug-out.

Watch the video:

Jagadeesan has represented Tamil Nadu in 26 first-class, 36 List A, and 45 T20 matches and it is likely that action will be taken against him for that obscene gesture. Notably, Jagadeesan is also part of the IPL’s four-time champion franchise Chennai Super Kings since 2018 and played two matches in the recently-concluded edition of the tournament.
