Tennis has become synonymous with Swiss legend Roger Federer. The 39-year-old veteran has been one of the driving forces behind the global spread in popularity of tennis and has inspired countless people to pursue their dreams.

In a recent live event for Tmall, a Chinese e-commerce website, the Swiss star revealed how he likes to relax and spend his leisure time.

Roger looked jovial during the live event, answering questions with his trademark humor and grin. On a question regarding what things he would do to relax himself, he cheekily replied, “I was gonna say I am chasing around my children, but I am not sure if that’s relaxing.

Despite all of his achievements and glory, he is innately a modest guy. He further added to his reply, “I still like to sleep, of course, or relax, and watch TV. I am still a guy who likes to put on the TV, kick his feet up, and maybe watch some sports.”

Roger also loves exploring restaurants with his wife

Tennis has always involved a lot of travel, and with events taking place in different regions of the world, it does also require some motivation.

Roger Federer has been lucky to have his family traveling alongside him in many of the tournaments he has played in. Moreover, he enjoys the downtime even more because of the company. Visiting many different cities during the ATP Tour, he gets a chance to explore places with his wife and friends.

He said, “And then, one thing I have always enjoyed ever since I came on the tour is to try different types of restaurants with my wife and with the friends that we have in those cities. I think this is a really nice way for me to unwind after a long busy day.”

The 39-year-old star is currently enjoying an extended recovery period after electing to have surgery on his knee earlier this year. He will be looking to make his return to the tour in 2021, with his sights set on the Australian Open. Incidentally, it was also the last event he played before he called a halt on his 2020 season.
