Roger Federer is recovering from his knee surgery and has been on a break from tennis. However, the former World No. 1’s singing has been aceing it all off-court. Being the Brand Ambassador of Roger Federer of Sunrise, the Swiss telecommunication company, he presented his skills in its new commercial singing ‘With a Little Help from my Friends’, a song by the famous British rock band ‘The Beatles’.
The commercial begins with Federer singing alone, followed by people singing along and joining him as he proceeds ahead.
“The Backhand Boys”
Federer has been showcasing his skills previously too. In 2017, the trio of Swiss maestro along with Tommy Haas and Grigor Dimitrov thrilled everyone as they sang 80s classic ‘Hard to say I’m sorry’ by American group Chicago, together.
Their vocal presentation received a huge response from the social media fans who appraised singing to be the second-best skill of the 20 time Grand Slam champion apart from tennis. The trio now being addressed as the ‘Backhand boys’ are hopeful of releasing their own track a track post-retirement.
During his recovery break from tennis, Federer has been keeping himself busy with a series of happenings. First being the launch of a new shoes’ series with the Swiss sneaker brand ‘On’, followed by a number of inspiring commercials for different brands, such as Mercedes-Benz and Nike. He further presented an amiable gesture as he met and sent two Italian girls to the Rafa Nadal Academy, who gained fame after a video of them playing tennis across the terrace of two buildings went viral.
With a lot of conjectures on his retirement, the Swiss remarked on his affection of tennis stating to retire once his priorities change, in the numerous interviews during lockdown.
