Los Angeles Lakers’ Paul George reveals the mentality of the team going into the 2020-21 season. Last season would not have been easy to digest for the LA Clippers, seeing their arch rivals lift the championship. But this season has got them to an even worse start, with 2 back-to-back defeats to Los Angeles Lakers without Lebron James and Anthony Davis. Following up with loss against Utah Jazz.

With a new Head Coach Tyronn Lue, the Clippers have not been to do so well. To add more to their wounds, on the first night of the new season, the defending champion would be presented with the championship trophy yet again. After being on a losing spree against the Lakers it seems like, Clippers need to get the mental strength back to win over their city rivals.

“It’s like a start of a marathon” Paul George on Los Angeles Clippers going into 2020-21 season

However, Paul George still had something positive to comment about the situation in a recent interview: “Dec. 22 won’t be the test of finding who we are, where we’re at…but [it’s] the start of the marathon…we had enough motivation if we [play] someone else or the Lakers,” George mentioned.

This spills the beans on their newly forged mindset under the guidance of head coach Tyronn Lue. The road ahead for the Clippers looks to be tougher this year, because if anything, the Western Conference has grown more dangerous.

Having said that, one thing is for sure, if the LA Clippers are supposed to do well in this season. Their marquee players Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are bound to lead from the front. Also, they might have to start as early as possible, given the return of majority of stars in the Western Conference. But time will tell, how far does PG13 and Leonard take the Clippers in the 2020-21 season?
