Lionel Messi has broken yet another record last night as he became the first player in history to score against 40 different clubs in the UCL after scoring a banger against Benfica. Only Cristiano Ronaldo comes close to the Argentine scoring against 37 different clubs.
Messi has scored against the most teams in the competition and has a total of 127 goals only behind Cristiano Ronaldo.
Some of the exemplary performances by Leo in the Champions League:
Bayer Leverkusen (UCL 2011/12): Messi scored 5 goals, becoming the first player in the UCL to ever do so.
Arsenal (UCL 2009/10): Messi scored 4 goals as Barcelona hammered the Gunners.
Celtic and Manchester City (UCL 2015/16): Back to Back UCL hattricks for Messi as La Pulga scored against both the clubs in the UCL Group stage
The Greatest Player of All Time, Leo Messi has given us numerous jaw-dropping moments. The 35-year-old is still breaking records.
