What did Cristiano Ronaldo say about Real Madrid in interview to Piers Morgan? Will the Portuguese go back?

It's fair to say that Ronaldo's career has taken a minor downhill turn since leaving Real Madrid. He did not have the same level of success at Juventus, and even less so at Manchester United, and now, it is certain that Ronaldo will to leave United after his latest interview.

Talking to Piers Morgan, the former Real Madrid hero took a dig at Manchester United and the manager, Erik Ten Hag. He talked about his arrival at United that was pushed by his mentor, Sir Alex Ferguson and that it was the best for him to return to his home.

Further on, Cristiano talked about his ex-club Real Madrid where he spent 9 years of his life. Ronaldo is counted as one of the best players in the history of the club. He left Real to join Italian side, Juventus followed by a move back to United.

Cristiano believes leaving Real Madrid was the worst mistake of his career. He left Madrid at the peak of his and the club's career, Real Madrid had captured the three-peat Champions League crowns from 2015-16 to 2017-18. He departed from the Spanish club after lifting the CL trophy in 2018.

Cristiano as per sources said, “Leaving Madrid? Biggest regret of my career. I had respect there, I had love there. If I went back in time, I would play there for free. I should never have left the biggest club in the world. They treated me like a king.”

Cristiano will be up for sale in the upcoming January transfer market. A journey back to the Los Blancos would be a dream come true from both the player and the Madrid fans.
