UFC 283 was the first-ever pay-per-view event of the year 2023, and the event delivered on what it promised. The fans got to see some of the best fighters deliver entertaining fights.
All the superstars did their best to win the fights, However, only four of them got bonuses for performing extraordinarily in the event. Here's the list of fighters who got the Performance of the Night and FOTN bonuses at UFC 283.
Ismael Bonfim The UFC debutant came into the fight as an underdog, but showed his experience and registered an incredible victory against Terrance McKinney. Bonfim knocked out his opponent in the second round with a nasty knee that dropped McKinney lifeless on the ground. Bonfim took home $50,000 extra with his fight purse.
Jailton Almeida Jailton Almeida was on a winning streak as he came into the fight against Shamil Abdurakhimov in a heavyweight match-up. Almeida dominated the fight in every aspect and finally secured the win via TKO in the second round. This gave the fighter the "Performance of the Night" bonus of $50k.
Jamahal Hill vs. Glover Teixeira The UFC 283 main event took place for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title between Glover Teixeira and Jamaal Hill. The fight was grueling as it went for five rounds, and both fighters gave it their all. However, Hill had the edge and won the fight via unanimous decision. After the fight, both fighters took home $50,000 as Fight of the Night bonuses.
Overall, UFC 283 went well; however, the Brazilian crowd had to see two of their champions lose the two title fights. Deiveson Figueiredo lost his fight to Brandon Moreno and has announced that he will leave the division. On the other hand, Glover Teixeira retired from the sport after a long career.
