Warriors lost to Kings 114-106 in Game 2 of first-round series. Down 0-2 in playoffs for first time in Steph Curry/Splash Brothers era. Draymond Green ejected for controversial incident.
Green and Sabonis went after a rebound in Q4. Sabonis fell down and grabbed Green's leg. Green shook his leg free and stomped on Sabonis' mid-section.
Sabonis got a technical foul and Green was ejected after referees reviewed the incident using the monitor during the game.
NBA star Damian Lillard, known for his frequent tweets, joked that Sabonis should have fouled and defended Green, insisting he didn't step on the Kings forward on purpose.
O'Neal stated that he wouldn't be a hypocrite and would have done the same as Green when grabbed, explaining the need to defend oneself, but also acknowledging it as a dirty play.
Sabonis didn't dwell on being stomped on and maintained focus on the game during the on-court interview, emphasizing the physical nature of playoff basketball.
Following the game, Green defended himself by stating he could only step back so far, and later took to Instagram to call out Sabonis for grabbing his leg.
