Gheorghe Dumitru Mureșan also known as "The Giant" is a Romanian former professional basketball player.
He shares the record for the tallest NBA player ever with Manute Bol at 7 feet 7 inches (2.31 m).
In the 1993 NBA Draft, the Washington Bullets picked Mureşan.[9] He participated in the NBA from 1993 to 2000, displaying early promise for a successful career that was cut short by injuries.
His greatest season was the 1995–1996 one, when he scored 14.5 points per game on average.
In the 1995–96 NBA season, Mureşan averaged 14.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.26 blocks, and a league-high 58.4 percent of his field goals were made, earning him the title of Most Improved Player.
Mureșan joined the New Jersey Nets for the final 31 games of his NBA career.
