Why was Kendrick Perkins fired from ESPN?

Kendrick Perkins is an NBA analyst for ESPN, known for his direct and honest commentary, in-depth analysis of games and players.

A Twitter post shared an image of Perkins with the caption, “Kendrick Perkins has been let go by ESPN,” and credited TMZ Sports as the source of the report. But TMZ Sports never tweeted anything about Perkins being laid off or published any story about Perkins.

Recently, on FirstTake, Perk got a lot of  heat and criticism for his take on NBA MVP voting system.

During his commentary, Perkins highlighted that since the early 90s, three MVP award winners who were not among the league's top scorers were white.

Kendrick Perkins is a retired NBA center who played for the Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New Orleans Pelicans, winning an NBA championship with the Celtics in 2008.
