Top 5 QuarterBacks After Week 8 according to NFL QB Index

Currently, the only NFL quarterbacks with a completion percentage above 70 are Smith and Matthew Stafford. But INTs make a significant distinction between the two. Stafford has thrown eight while Smith has only three. By defeating the hot Giants 27-13 at home on Sunday, the Seahawks made a strong statement. Smith played well once again, completing 23 of his 34 throws for 212 yards and two TDs.

5. Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks

Jackson impressed in Tampa Bay on a Thursday night, providing a welcome turnaround from his underwhelming afternoon against the Browns in Week 7. The Ravens won 27-22 thanks to his 27 of 38 passing for 238 yards and two TDs. It shouldn't come as a surprise that Baltimore won both games since he didn't throw an interception the previous two weeks.

4. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

It was basically only his four-touchdown performance against the Steelers on Sunday that was absent from his résumé this year. Prior to the Eagles' 35-13 victory on Sunday, Hurts had only thrown six touchdown passes. Hurts recorded a season-high quarterback rating (140.6) and for the second time, this year averaged 10 or more yards per attempt.

3. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

A strong effort against the Packers would have allowed Allen to reclaim the top spot on this list. He missed out on the top spot this week because that didn't happen. Allen completed 13 of 25 passes for 218 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions as Buffalo won 27-17. Allen also had six rushes for 48 yards.

2. Josh Allen,  Buffalo Bills

Mahomes returned from his bye week in the same position on this list as he had been in the previous week. Despite missing Week 8, he still leads the league in touchdown passes. Following the bye week, Mahomes will have opportunities to bolster his stats against three defenses that rank in the lowest half of the league in terms of passing yards allowed per game.

1. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
