Players with longest Top-10 streak on the ATP Tour

Rafael Nadal leads the chart with more than 900 consecutive weeks in the Top-10. The Spaniard's streak started on 24th May 2005 and the 22-time Grand Slam champion has not left the Top-10 ever since. 

Jimmy Connors led the list for the longest time before being eclipsed by Nadal. The American great spent 788 consecutive weeks in the Top-10 having entered the Club on 27th August 1973 and leaving it on 25th September 1988, a stay of more than 15 years. 

Roger Federer is the only other person to have spent more than 700 weeks in Top-10. The 20-time major winner started his streak on 14th October 2002. His stay ended on 30th October 2016 as injury setbacks pushed him out. He returned to the Top-10 shortly after becoming the World No. 1 in 2018.

Ivan Lendl ranks 4th on the list with his stay of 619 weeks in the Top-10.  A streak of 12 years started on 7th July 1980 and ended on 10th May 1992. The 8-time major winner later used his expertise to guide Andy Murray (322 consecutive weeks in Top-10) to World No. 1 rank as well. 

Pete Sampras sits on the 5th spot in the list. The 14-time major winner spent 11 consecutive years in the Top-10. He entered the Top-10 for the first time on 10th September 1990 and left the club on 1st July 2001. 

Novak Djokovic, ranked 6th on the list is one of the only other active member other than Nadal. The Serbian with his 555 weeks from 19th March 2007 to 29th October 2017, came agonizingly close to overtaking Sampras but injury setbacks could not see it materialise. 

Stefan Edberg spent close to a decade in the Top-10 during his glorious career. He broke through the Top-10 for the first time on 9th September 1985 and remain unmoved till 12th February 1995, getting 493 weeks under his belt. 

With 485 consecutive weeks, Guillermo Vilas ranks 8th on the list. Vilas' streak was recorded between 12th August 1974 to 20th November 1983. It was the second longest streak when it came to an end before other players took over. 

Boris Becker makes the list on the 9th spot. 'Boom Boom' entered the Top-10 immediately after winning the 1985 Wimbledon at the age of 16. He remained a Top-10 player till 7th November  1993, amounting a total of 436 consecutive weeks. 

Bjorn Borg, the original 'King of Clay' completes the list on the 10th spot. Borg entered Top-10 on 3rd June 1974 coinciding with the start of the 1974 French Open which would become his first major a fortnight later. Borg was in the club for 422 weeks before leaving Top-10 on 20th June 1982, 8 years after making his debut in the list.
