5 biggest upsets in MMA

MMA is a game of inches, and almost anything can happen inside an octagon. Over the years we've seen many dominant entities, but there have been some instances where the underdogs came out with everything they had and shocked the world. Let's take a look at some of these incredible moments.

At UFC 199, a rematch between Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping took place for the middleweight title.  The champion, Luke Rockhold in his red hot form was the favorite in front of Bisping who was in the twilight of his career. But Bisping shocked the world when he knocked Rockhold with a left hook to become the new Champion .

Most people believed that Nunes, who is recognized as the best female fighter of all time, would easily win this fight. Ronda Rousey is undoubtedly the greatest women fighter in UFC history. She seemed to be at the peak of her abilities going into her match with Holm at UFC 193. Rousey had a perfect 12-0 record and had defeated all four of her previous opponents in the first round. But Holm shocked everyone by winning the fight via a spectacular head kick KO in the second round .

Anderson Silva was  invincible for a long time in the UFC. In his second match with the organization, he won the middleweight title. Coming into UFC 162, he had amassed a 16 match unbeaten streak. Weidman entered the fight as the underdog . Few could have predicted that Weidman would emerge victorious from the match, and that too via TKO.

At UFC 69 GSP was coming into the fight with just one loss in his all MMA career having won the welterweight championship in his last fight . Whereas Serra was  coming to UFC 69 with a not so impressive track record but managed to pull one of  the  biggest upsets in UFC history when he managed to knockout GSP in the first round.
