The world of combat sports is very competitive, and only a few fighters ever reach the pinnacle of this sport. However, sometimes fighters use unfair means to get an edge over their competitors. So let's take a look at some UFC champions who got stripped of their titles upon failing drug tests.
Sean Shark: Sean Shark was the second ever UFC lightweight champion, having won it at UFC 64. His title reign, however, was short-lived, as he was stripped of the title in the next match due to a failed Nandrolone drug test.
Tim Sylvia: Tim Sylvia won his first of two UFC heavyweight titles at UFC 41. However, after his first successful title defence at UFC 44, he was stripped of his championship due to a failed drug test.
Josh Barnett: Josh Barnett defeated Randy Couture to win the UFC heavyweight championship at UFC 36. However, Barnett's reign as champion would be cut short when he tested positive for boldenone, nandrolone, and fluoxymesterone after the match.
TJ Dillashaw: Having dominated the bantamweight division as champion, he decided to move down to challenge the flyweight champion. Not only did he lose his flyweight title match, but he was also stripped of his bantamweight title after testing positive for recombinant human erythropoietin.
Jon Jones: Jones' light heavyweight title was stripped following his victory over Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 after he tested positive for the turinabol metabolite. He is the only UFC fighter to be stripped of his gold twice.
