The main event of UFC 282 was headlined by Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev. They were fighting for the vacant light heavyweight title, and after 5 rounds of intense back and forth between these two gladiators, the fight was ruled as majority draw.
It was a tough night for everyone in the office. Many thought Ankalaev should have won the fight, and even Joe Rogan called out the judges for making a mistake. During the post-fight interview, even Jan Blachowicz insisted that they give the belt to Ankalaev.
Ankalaev was obviously very upset with the decision, and he hinted that he might leave the UFC. Everyone calmed him down, and then he blamed his "comparatively bad performance" on a "not so great" training camp and injuries.
Blachowicz on the other hand, displayed true sportsmanship. He accepted the fact that he doesn't deserve to win, and the referees were right to call it a draw. He didn't blamed anyone, and accepted his fault.
It's been a while since the PPV took place, and Blachowicz had some time to reflect on his performance. He still believes he lacked in certain aspects, but he is angry at Ankalaev for still not accepting his fault, and blaming it on literally everything else.
In a recent interview, Blachowicz said, “Excuses. I hate when someone say it like this. It pisses me off when someone uses excuses. I never say that my camp was bad, I have injuries or something like this. If you feel bad, stay home, drink tea with honey and relax. If you go to the fight, don’t excuse yourself. It just shows your weakness and that’s it."
