Long time UFC commentator, comedian, podcast host, Joe Rogan is one of the most famous guys from the MMA circuit. A jiu-jitsu practitioner himself, Rogan has trained with the likes of Jiu-Jitsu legend, Eddie Bravo.

Rogan and Bravo used to travel the world together. After a while Rogan shifted his focus more on his involvement with the UFC, and Bravo competed in a lot of competitions around the world. He got the biggest match of his life against the legendary Royler Gracie back in 2003.

Royler and Eddie faced each other in Abu Dhabi World Championships back in 2003, and Rogan was there to attend the event. Royler was considered even better than his brother, Royce Gracie, and Bravo wasn't even a black belt at time. Much to everyone's surprise, Eddie Bravo got the win via triangle choke off his back.

In a recent interview, Rogan was talking about the amazing skills Bravo had, he said, “[Eddie] has crazy flexibility and leg dexterity. It’s very surprising. So, if you’re in his guard, you’re f***ng, and Royler didn’t know it. He was in Eddie’s guard and Eddie just slapped that triangle on him and then started pulling the head and Royler tapped and it was insane. I was crying. Dude. I’ll cry right now. Woo.”

Rogan described at it as one of the craziest moments of his life, “It’s one of the greatest experiences of my life. I get emotional right now talking about it. It changed his life. He was always like this super-talented guy. And he didn’t kind of want to believe it for some strange reason. He was very humble about his jiu-jitsu. He knew he was pretty good, and then he started winning tournaments."

Bravo dedicated his entire life to the art, and he formulated a very unique style that was totally unheard of. Bravo remained incredibly humble throughout his career, and formulated the 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu that rivals with the methods of the legendary Gracie family.
