Khabib Nurmagomedov has hinted in one of his recent Instagram posts about leaving the world of MMA completely. The fighter retired at the top of his game as a professional fighter in 2020, following his father's death. However, he kept training his team members as a full-time coach.

As a fighter, Khabib Nurmagomedov showed why he's the best in the world and always gave credit to his coaches, Abdul Abdulmanap and Javier Mendez. After retiring, Nurmagomedov's coaching record is also extremely good.

Islam Makhachev, Usman Nurmagomedov, etc. are some of the most successful fighters that Khabib has trained. Nurmagomedov always used to say that Makhachev would be the next lightweight champion, and he achieved that at UFC 280. It was late Abdulmanap's dream that Khabib realized.

Fans have already considered Nurmagomedov a great coach and were expecting him to continue doing so for the upcoming years. However, the Dagestani has some other plans.

Fans were surprised to learn that Nurmagomedov had abruptly decided to step down as a coach.Everybody thought Nurmagomedov would most probably help Makhachev defend his title a couple more times, but that's not the case anymore.

Now that Nurmagomedov will completely isolate himself from MMA, he will most probably focus on his business as the promoter of Eagle FC. The fighter is a family man and will like to spend most of his time with them.
