Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier

Much like what the Irishman did after the loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov, Conor feels he is still on the right path. In the Instagram post, Conor said, “Some highlights from my last fight! What a trilogy I now have on my hands. Exciting! With a handle on the leg kicks, I will get back to having fun in there. I was in second gear cruising this fight. The best condition I’ve ever been in,”.

Alike what many experts pointed out, Conor admitted that Dustin’s leg kicks were the leading cause for his defeat.  Conor talks about the flaws in his stance, “A little single disciplined in my approach and stance with mostly boxing. It’s what I get for picking this bout and opponent as a precursor to a boxing match against Pacman. I deserved to get the legs kicked off me going in with this thinking”.

“This is not the game to play around with. Besides this, my shots where sharp and I was in full control. Albeit the leg attacks where building up on me throughout the course. 18 in total thrown at me, with the final one buckling my leg fully, that was that,” he added about the leg kicks.

Conor ended his statement by giving Dustin Poirier his proper dues. “Then a tremendous finishing flurry by my opponent. Hats off! A well fought fight by The Diamond. 1 a piece now with a Trilogy bout for all the marbles! Wow! Exciting!”

Poirier confirm trilogy fight with Conor McGregor

Conor is confident about the Trilogy happening and Dustin Poirier tweeted the same. Fans and Professionals alike feel this Trilogy is “meant to be”. With Poirier battling for the belt now, we could possibly see the third rematch between the Irishman and the Diamond happening with the championship at stake.

Reporters and experts are confident that the UFC will work on this to make it happen. Even from a business point of view, the third match will look to break pay-per-view records.
