Hoston Rockets are looking to make some serious front office changes to score big in the 2020-21 season. From a new General Manager to a new Assistant Coach, the Rockets want everything that could benefit the duo of Russell Westbrook and James HardenStephen Silas was introduced as the new Assistant Coach of Houston Rockets couple of weeks back. The latter has already framed up plans to get the best out of his players, especially Harden and Westbrook.

During the entire season of 2019-20, former coach Mike D’Antoni’s idea to score from behind the arc did not favour the Rockets much. Particularly in the playoffs against LA Lakers. However, the role of players like PJ Tucker was more emphasised which led to some ease in the initial stages of the regular season for the star duo.

During a recent interview as published by Essentially Sports, Silas was asked about the strengths of his star players when they play together.

Silas replied, “When they are on the floor together, it is part of a grand scheme or system. (We need to figure) out ways to get them the ball early in possessions, where they are not having teams load up on them or having a set defense. So as the ball is coming up the floor, a little pass ahead, and now they are attacking gaps against a defense that isn’t set.”

The first and foremost goal of the Rockets would be to reach the playoffs with ease. After which Silas seems confident that the side from Houston can achieve greater goals than last season with improved strategies. But it is only up to time to tell where would Houston Rockets be after making such huge changes in the front office.
