Who are Casper Ruud’s Parents? Know all about Christian Ruud and Lele Ruud

Find out who are Norweigan Casper Ruud's parents, Christian Ruud and Lele Ruud, who have been a constant pillar of support for the tennis star.

Casper Ruud

Casper Ruud is a tennis player from Norway. In February 2020, he won his first ATP championship at the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires. He became the first Norwegian player to win an ATP title in the process. Casper began playing tennis with his father when he was around four years old, and when he was younger, he looked up to Rafael Nadal as one of his tennis idols. He had a successful junior career, being the first Norwegian to be ranked as the number one junior player in the world.

Ruud debuted on the ATP Tour in 2016 and steadily rose through the rankings before earning his first ATP title in February 2020 at the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires. Ruud had also qualified for the 2019 ATP Next Gen Finals prior to that breakthrough. More success followed for the gifted Norwegian, and he had a breakout year in 2021 when he won five titles and considerably improved his ranking. In 2022, Ruud scripted history in the French Open and added another feather to his cap as he became the first Norwegian player to qualify for a Grand-Slam final.

Who are Casper Ruud’s parents?

Casper Ruud and his father

Ruud was born in Oslo, Norway, on December 22, 1998. Christan Ruud, a former ATP pro, is Casper’s father. Christian Ruud began his professional career in 1991 and retired in 2001, with a career-high ranking of No. 39, the highest by any Norwegian player until Casper broke the record in February 2020. Casper Ruud, unsurprisingly, did not have to seek far for a coach as his father, Christian, is also his coach. He has two sisters, Caroline and Charlotte, and his mother’s name is Lele Ruud. Little is known about Lele since she has chosen to live a private life regardless of her status. However, one thing that is known is she has continuously supported her son throughout his whole journey.
