Why Free Fire servers are down today: Free Fire servers are down today as the game is receiving a new update. While a new update, the game’s servers are taken down for a few hours to push to update live on to the servers.

Free Fire OB30 is the latest update of the game which is releasing today i.e., September 28, 2021. The new update’s features have been surfaced on the Internet ahead of its launch. Moreover, the advanced version of the game i.e., Free Fire Max is going to be released today which makes the day more exciting for players. The servers will remain down in Free Fire today. Here we will discuss the reasons for it, how long will they remain down for today.

Why Free Fire servers are down today?

The officials have announced that the Free Fire Servers would remain closed for a few hours as they were working on bringing the new update live to the players. As a result, the servers are down, due to maintenance. During the maintenance gap, no player can be able to access the game as the servers remain closed. Once the maintenance break is finished, all players can enter and enjoy the new update as well as the game.

Yesterday, the officials have announced the timings for the Maintenance break via a social media post. The maintenance break is required to get the update live on the global servers of Garena Free Fire. As part of it, the servers will be taken down for a few hours. The official Maintenance timings are:

• Start time: 9:30 AM IST (GMT +5:30) on September 28, 2021
• End Time:6:30 PM IST (GMT +5.30) on September 28,2021

The announcement post reads:

"Please be noted that the game will be going through maintenance tomorrow, starting from 9:30 AM IST to 6:30 PM IST! Are you as excited as we are to try out the new features? So are we!"
"During this time, you will not be able to enter the game or play normally. But don't you worry, you'll be able to access normal right after you update the patch coming soon! "

Any player who accesses the game during the aforementioned timings will be shown an error message which states:

 “The Server Will be Ready Soon.”

There is no other way than to wait until the maintenance break is finished. Therefore, the servers shall remain closed for a total of 9 hours i.e., from 9:30 AM IST to 6:30 PM IST.

When will the OB30 update go live?

The update will be available to download after a couple of hours of the commencement of the Maintenance period. Players can head to the google play store or the app store to download the new update. Reportedly, the game will be available to download from 11 AM or 12 PM (IST) in the afternoon. However, the game is accessible after the maintenance period only.
