In a recent Q&A session on Instagram, the Briton answered numerous questions from his followers. The two that stood out were his desire to coach Roger Federer and the comparison of his performance with the ‘Big Three’.

Andy Murray himself has encountered the 20-time Grand Slam winner 25 times in his career so far (One should be really proud of himself of achieving this milestone). However, it looks that Murray wants to go a step further and coach his senior.

According to Andy, his association with the Swiss would have a mutual benefit and would yield great results. ” Roger Federer would be the player I would love to work with as a coach. The reason is I think I will get to learn a lot about tennis from him and in return, he would win a lot. Moreover, Roger’s practice sessions would certainly be a treat to watch,” said Murray, surprising his followers with his unusual pick.

Nothing to separate between the ‘Big Three’ at the moment, says Andy Murray

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic

In the other question, the Scot was asked to pick the best season of the ‘Big Three’. The options he got was 2006 for Federer, 2010 for Nadal and Djokovic’s 2011 season. All the players in their respective season won three Majors each and had one of the best career runs. For Murray himself, the 2016 season was chosen, where he successfully defended his singles gold in the Olympics and rose to No.1 in ATP rankings.

Andy Murray took a safer route by refusing to choose between the other three’s seasons and putting his golden year of 2016 at last. He explained the reason for doing this. Andy added, “Hands down, I’m last! Can’t choose between them. It is extremely difficult and most probably depends on how many titles they won on a particular surface.” said Murray in a humble response.

After returning from the pelvic injury, Andy Murray will hope for a good showing at the US Open. Post the injury, Murray has seen a huge dip in his form but currently, he looks in good shape and would want to go as deep as possible at the Flushing Meadows.
