In the year 1981, on this day in Basel, Switzerland, a boy was born in the Federer family. Little did anyone know, he would become the force of monumental change in tennis. Today is the 39th Birthday of Roger Federer and just like his following across the globe, he has got warm wishes from every corner.

Laver posts a special tweet for Roger

Rod Laver took to his Twitter account to express his affection towards Roger Federer. The Australian wished the Swiss master for his 39th Birthday with 2 pictures of the duo, one from the Australian Open and the other from the Laver Cup.

Rod Laver expressed his ardent desire to see Roger back on the court who has been struggling with a knee injury and has decided to stay off tour to recover well. He also wished Roger to enjoy his special day with his family and hoping to be with Roger the next year.

The duo has a great bonding on the court. In fact, the Laver Cup held annually was co-created by Roger Federer and named after Rod Laver who is a living legend of the sports. They have also supported each other and in spite of the 43 year age gap between the two, their greatness in the sport is similar and their love for the sport unites them.
