Elena Rybakina who was born on 17th June 1999, is a Russian-born Kazakhstan professional tennis player. She made history after winning the women’s singles championship in Wimbledon 2022. Elena is the first Kazakh player to win a major title and ranked in the top 15, with a ranking of No. 12 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). She formerly represented her country of birth, Russia, but has represented Kazakhstan since 2018.
Rybakina defeated the in-form Tunisian, Ons Jabeur 3-6, 6-2, 6-2. The Tunisian was caught in the crosshair of the destructive attacks from the Russian-born Kazakh who hammered her with strong serves and forehands to become the youngest Wimbledon champion at the age of 23 since 2011 when Petra Kvitová of the Czech republic clinched the same title at the age of 21.
