Dhankar’s post mortem report revealed that he died due to ‘cerebral damage’ after being hit on the head by a blunt object. Two others were also injured in the scuffle that took place on May 4. In the screengrab, the 23-year-old can be seen lying on the ground while a crowd thrashes him with sticks.

The Delhi Police has claimed the footage is from the parking lot of the Chhatrasal Stadium where Sushil and his men beat Dhankar and two others mercilessly. “Sushil had asked (his friend) Prince to make that video. He and his associates thrashed the victims like animals. He wanted to establish his fear in the wrestling community,” Delhi Police was quoted by Times Now as telling the court last week.

The disagreement between Sushil Kumar and Sagar Dhankar, which led to the brawl, was over a flat that belonged to the former World Champion in the Model Town area of Delhi. Sagar used to stay on rent in this flat with a friend named Sonu Mahal, who is hailed as the right-hand of wanted gangster Kala Jathedi.
