Indian ace wrestler Sushil Kumar has been suspended from his post of senior commercial manager at Northern Railways with immediate effect after being arrested as one of the accused in a murder case. Sushil and his accomplice Ajay Kumar was arrested on Sunday by the Delhi Police for the killing of 23-year-old junior wrestler Sagar Rana at the Chhatrasal Stadium during a brawl that occurred over an argument.
Sushil and Ajay are currently in remand and are being interrogated about the incident. The arrest came about after various raids conducted by the special cell. The arrest was then carried out after a tip-off that ACP Attar Singh, Inspector Shiv Kumar, Inspector Karambir, and SI Rajesh Sharma received that Sushil and his accomplice would be traveling near Mundka and therefore, a trap was laid.

According to PTI, Sushil Kumar has now been suspended from a job that he had at Northern Railways as a senior commercial manager due to the criminal investigation that is taking place. Sushil had also been on deputation with the Delhi Government since 2015 and is an Officer of Special Duty at the Chhatrasal Stadium where the incident took place, for the development of sports at the school level. The aforesaid deputation was extended last year and he had also applied for an extension this year which was not approved.
About the investigation, a police officer reportedly said, “We are questioning Kumar to ascertain the sequence of events that transpired and led the crime and also about his whereabouts after the incident. He was also questioned about his associates and friends who helped him to hide. He will be taken to the spot for recreating the crime scene.”
Further sources reportedly said that on the first day, Sushil refused to eat anything and was awake all night in the lock-up. He is also said to have cried many times during the course of the night.
