Badosa has had a good run in the two clay court events that she has participated in this year. At the Charleston Open she beat players like Bencic and Barty to reach the semifinals of the event. At the Madrid Open, she has beaten Barbora Krejčíková in the first round, and got the better of Jil Teichmann in the second. In the third round she defeated Anastasija Sevastova in three sets 6-7 7-6 6-0.

Her Quarter-final opponent is Belinda Bencic. Bencic has been in terrible form and try as she might, she has not been able to shrug it off. In this tournament, she beat doubles specialist Kristina Mladenovic in the first round, and defeated qualifier Bernarda Pera in the second. In the third round she won via walkover against Ons Jabeur while leading 7-6 4-3.

Badosa has a solid game on clay and is in great form too. She has shown in the past that on her day she can beat players like Ash Barty as well, and therefore it can be said that her strategic side is good too. Bencic has not been in form, but in the last match she had luck on her side as her opponent Ons Jebeur retired mid way. She might not be that lucky against Badosa.

Match Prediction: Paula Badosa will beat Belinda Bencic in three rounds.
