Is WWE planning to repackage Alexa Bliss’ character?

Bliss

Alexa Bliss has been playing a supernatural gimmick for nearly an year now, but it isn’t getting the reception from the WWE Universe that the company would’ve liked. The gimmick initially had begun to align Bliss with Bray Wyatt’s character of The Fiend.

Initially, the segments were receiving great response from the fans. But with Wyatt released from the company, the supernatural aspect of the show has lost all its sheen. This should not take away from Bliss’ abilities. She has been doing great with whatever is being provided to her by the creatives. But the character is just isn’t working.

WWE has now even added the Lily doll to the scene, which is hurting – not just Bliss but the entire show. In fact, Bliss’ match against Eva Marie at WWE Summerslam 2021 was the first time in a really long time, when we actually saw some professional wrestling from Bliss. Otherwise all her matches were gimmick heavy. But Alexa Bliss herself has defended her gimmick on Twitter.

The match at “The Biggest Party of the Summer” might be hinting that WWE is slowly moving away from the gimmick. The Red-brand is constantly lagging behind in ratings and even received a massive blow when AEW scored higher in the main demo.

Alexa Bliss will challenge Charlotte Flair at Extreme Rules

Flair and Bliss

Two of the biggest Superstars from the Raw women’s division are going to battle at WWE’s upcoming PPV- Extreme Rules 2021. This could be the decisive match where the supernatural gimmick ends once and for all.

At the PPV, Flair is unlikely to lose. The simple reason being that her back-to-back short title reigns will portray her as a weak Champion and she would look undeserving of her record title reigns. So far, Lily has been present every time Alexa Bliss has shown up against Charlotte Flair. She is clearly a part of the feud, and we could see her end at the PPV.

WWE Extreme Rules airs live on 26th September, 2021.
