New match added to the WWE Extreme Rules 2021 card

New match added to the WWE Extreme Rules 2021 card

Morgan challenged Carmella

WWE Extreme Rules 2021 is just a little over a week away and yet a major part of the card is yet to be announced. The rumored card is set to undergo a significant change with Big E showing up on Raw and winning the WWE Championship. With Lashley losing the title, and MVP getting injured, the Raw side of the card still remains a mystery.

But things are different for the Blue brand. The main event for WWE Extreme Rules 2021 is expected to be from Blue brand – with The Demon Finn Balor taking on Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. A new match has also been added to the card – from the women’s division of the Blue brand.

On the latest episode of Smackdown Liv Morgan and Toni Storm teamed up to face Carmella and Zelina Vega. During the match, Morgan kicked Carmella sending her face-first into the turnbuckle. The self-proclaimed “most beautiful woman in WWE” pretended that her nose had been broken, and was eventually counted out of the match.

Liv Morgan was fed up of all this and decided to challenge Carmella for a match at WWE Extreme Rules 2021. She promised to make her as hideous on the outside, as much she is inside! In a later backstage segment Carmella accepted the challenge. Additionally, her partner Zelina Vega has challenged Morgan for a match, next week on Smackdown.

So far, 6 matches have been announced to take place at the upcoming WWE PPV. Interestingly, 5 of these matches will be having titles on the line and Liv Morgan vs. Carmella is so far the only non-title match on the card. The card currently features the following matches:

  • Universal Championship: Roman Reigns vs “The Demon” Finn Balor
  • Raw Women’s Championship: Charlotte Flair vs Alexa Bliss
  • Smackdown Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair
  • United States Championship: Damian Priest vs Sheamus
  • Smackdown Tag Team Championship: The Usos vs The Street Profits
  • Liv Morgan vs Carmella

Surprisingly, none of these matches have any stipulations. The WWE Extreme Rules PPV is popular for being the night when WWE goes Extreme, which is clearly a factor that has been missing from the event. There are still one episode left for each of the shows to add some zing to the event.

WWE Extreme Rules 2021 airs live on 26th September.
