Kavita Devi has not been seen in action since last year due to a knee injury. She was out of action for a major part of last year, and had returned to India in January, this year, when her husband contracted Covid-19.

“I have read some of those reports, and they aren’t accurate. I have been back at home in India since January. My husband contracted Covid earlier this year and I needed to be here with my family, I chose not to go back to America,” Kavita mentioned.

Kavita Devi is the first Indian woman to have been signed by WWE. But her injury prevented her from performing much. She even missed out on WWE’s India special show – Superstar Spectacle, where the talents from India performed with the Superstars from the main roster.

Kavita also acknowledged WWE’s support, after they considered her contract, even when she rarely performed last year. She also mentioned that WWE and her are working in a “new arrangement” that allows her to be at home, while being a part of the WWE Universe.

“Everyone at WWE has been incredibly supportive, I am filled with gratitude for everything they have done for me. I have also had an ACL injury for over a year and have been unable to perform in the ring but WWE still supported me through all of that. They understand that India is where I need to be. We are working together on a new arrangement that allows me to be home, but still part of the WWE Universe,” mentioned Kavita Devi.
