Kevin Owens has been a huge part of the WWE roster since 2014. Over his seven years with the company – Owens has held the NXT Championship, Universal Championship, Intercontinental Championship and the United States Championship. Overall, Owens is a 10-time World Champion in wrestling.

While he has impressed the WWE Universe for years with his mic skills and prowess inside the ring. But recently, he has been the talking point of the world of professional wrestling due to his contract. His contract with WWE was set to expire in January and fans had been speculating whether he would stay with the company or move to a competitive brand like AEW.

Considering how WWE let massive Superstars like Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman go, fans expected Owens to leave the company too. But in a surprising development, WWE has re-signed Kevin Owens for three years. As reported by Fightful, WWE offered a lucrative deal to the Prizefighter to sign him back.

In fact, it is being told that WWE offered him a deal, which even All Elite Wrestling couldn’t match. Additionally, Dave Meltzer reported that Owens would be earning around $2-3 million annually. The deal also has a “no-cut” clause which means that WWE will be at the liberty to release Owens, anytime they like.

The WWE Championship is going to be on the line at WWE’s brand new PPV – Day 1. Big E will be defending his title in a Fatal 4-Way match against Bobby Lashley, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins. Initially, when Owens hadn’t re-signed with the company, it was reported that Owens was added to the feud to take the pinfall and ensure that other Superstars remain protected.

But with now Owens deciding to stay with the company, things have gotten a lot more interesting. Each of the 4 Superstars will be walking into WWE Day 1 with significant momentum and essentially have an equal chance of winning the title.
