WWE Money in the Bank 2021 ladder matches might feature numerous underdogs, but this year, one of the biggest underdogs who will be stepping inside the ring will be Kofi Kingston. He faces Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship, at the upcoming WWE PPV.
Lashley was arguably the biggest winner of Wrestlemania 37, as the WWE Universe was quite sure of Drew McIntyre winning the title. He earned a definitive win over McIntyre, not only once, but on three occasions, proving himself to be a dominant Champion.
But this feud, has revolved around the theme of Lashley losing his dominance, mainly due to MVP’s partying ways. First they suffered a Tag Team loss to Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, then he lost clean to Xavier Woods on the go-home Raw episode for Money in the Bank 2021.
This raises the question – Has WWE planned a surprise win for Kofi Kingston at WWE Money in the Bank? Simply put, it is highly unlikely. Since Kingston’s first reign ended, to Brock Lesnar, the way WWE has presented him, it is hard to see him as a Champion, at least right now. Hence, in the WWE Championship match, we could see some early dominance from Kingston, but that should be followed by the return of Lashley’s brutality.
WWE Money in the Bank 2021’s result will build up to Summerslam
WWE wants to surprise the fans as the live crowds return. One of the most obvious ways to go about, is to get the WWE Money in the Bank winner involved in the Championship matches, on the same night.
There are several potential winners, and one of the surprises WWE could’ve planned is a cash-in on the same night. It is also rumored that Goldberg will be returning to challenge the WWE Champion, so we might even see that feud kick-off at MITB.
