WWE Money in the Bank ladder matches promise high-flying breathtaking moments. One of the superstars that will always come to everyone’s mind when imagining high-flying – will definitely be former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.
Kofi Kingston, along with Kane, holds the record for most appearances in the Money in the Bank ladder matches. The two wrestlers have appeared 7 times each in the stipulation matches. But despite having all the skillsets that are required for the Money in the Bank ladder matches, Kingston has never won a single MITB ladder match.
Kingston first appeared in a MITB ladder match in 2009, when the stipulation was a part of the Wrestlemania 25 card. He went on to make 4 consecutive appearances in the ladder match till 2011. After a brief break from the stipulation he returned again in 2014 and 2015. At Money in the Bank 2018, he equaled the record for most appearances in such matches, and it was also his last appearance.
Kofi Kingston will be seen in a Championship match at WWE Money in the Bank
This year, we will see Kofi Kingston in action at WWE Money in the Bank, but it will not be in the ladder match. Instead, Kofi Kingston will be seen in the WWE Championship match, where he will be facing the defending Champion Bobby Lashley.
Initially, the stakes of the match included just the Championshihp. But the bar was raised when Lashley faced Kingston’s Tag Team partner inside the WWE Hell in a Cell. Lashley, with some assistance from MVP, brutally assaulted Woods.
The New Day members got a part of their revenge when they faced Lashley and MVP in a Tag team match on Raw. But Kingston will be looking forward to completely brutalize Lashley when they clash at Money in the Bank.
WWE Money in the Bank airs live on 18th July, 2021.
