Cody Rhodes is one of the biggest names in the professional wrestling industry. He is a second generation professional wrestler who was catapulted to global stardom during his time on WWE. He was with the company for a decade from 2006-2016. He was a multi-time Tag Team Champion on WWE, before he requested his release from the company in 2016.
The American Nightmare made his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38 and had one of the best matches in the wrestling industry. Rhodes came out as the surprise opponent for Seth Rollins and defeated him. The two also met each other in a rematch at WrestleMania Backlash but the result was the same. Cody Rhodes recently sat in an interview and addressed about his matches with Rollins and how it was a pure wrestling match. Here’s what he said:
“I understand that sports entertainment is the proper term in WWE, but Backlash was a wrestling card. Bell-to-bell, there were stories told in the ring, and there was competition, and there was violence. It just felt different. If me being back helps bring that identity, then good because I’m not changing. I’m going to be me. I was really satisfied with our two matches. It was pure wrestling. I thought that chapter was closed, but I’m looking forward to what’s next between us.”
Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins is set for a third installment
The Rhodes vs Rollins saga is still not over and the two will continue their exciting feud and will face each other inside the obnoxious Hell in a Cell structure a few weeks from now. The two men have outperformed in the their last couple of matches and everybody can expect another stupendous match at Hell in a Cell.
