Dave Bautista is a Hollywood star, a well-known MMA athlete, a two-time royal rumble winner and a multi-time world champion in WWE. All these achievements are attained by fewer people in their careers. Bautista started his career in Evolution stable as not so well-known performer but went on to have an influential career in WWE involved in feuds against the like of Triple-H and Rey Mysterio.

Obviously having such an influential career means that his words had some weight behind them. ‘The Animal’ in his last return in 2018 feuded with Triple-H, attacking his former mentor, Ric Flair, which prompted a match between him and Triple-H at Wrestlemania in which Triple-H emerged victorious. Prior to his third return, Bautista returned to the company in 2014, the same year in which Undertaker lost his streak against brock Lesnar.

Commenting on the Undertaker’s streak on the Huffington Post, Dave Bautista said that it sucked as Undertaker should not have lost the streak to a part-timer, which was the general consensus at that time. Bautista said:

“It sucked! Honestly, I thought it sucked. I haven’t really talked much about it but I think it was a bad decision, a horrible decision. I don’t have any say in the matter but to me, watching as a fan, it made me sick. Brock Lesnar beating him didn’t seem to work and it really wasn’t good that Brock left the day after. I just don’t see how that made sense at all. I don’t think anyone wanted to see the streak broken and it just didn’t make sense to me.”

In the same interview, Dave Bautista was asked about The Shield break-up, which now is regarded as one of the best double crosses in WWE’s History. In the interview he said that the three rookies were still not ready and also praised Jon Moxley aka Dean Ambrose as being the “most talented” among the three:

“It’s similar to my take on the Undertaker. I guess there comes a point where you have to send them their separate ways but – and it’s just my opinion – I don’t think they were ready. I don’t think they’re ready to fly solo. I realize where they’re going and that WWE will push Roman Reigns straight to the top”.
