Original plans for The Hardy Boyz in WWE revealed
The WWE Universe would have seen a completely new side of Team Xtreme if the creative would have gone ahead with the original plans for the brothers.

The Hardy Boyz were one of the most decorated tag teams in WWE. The brothers created a name for themselves in every promotion they’ve been to. Whether it was putting their bodies on the line or re-inventing themself, Matt and Jeff have shown a true passion for this sport. However, according to Matt Hardy, their start in the industry could have been completely different.
While speaking on his podcast “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” the former WWE star revealed what the creative had pitched for the brothers back when they were just working as enhancement talent. The AEW star said, “Something they pitched is they had an idea, and it was creative; this came down from Vince Russo, where he wanted myself and Jeff doing pledges for DX, and we were like into that.”
Following the pitch, the brothers started doing the DX trademark crotch chop. However, the plans never came to fruition. Matt Hardy recalls how these plans were then pulled after a few weeks. He said, “We did it for like four or five weeks, and they said, ‘Okay, enough of that. We’re not gonna do this. These guys aren’t quite ready. Let them do whatever,’ and then it just stopped immediately and was never revisited again.”
Before their run as an established tag team, the Hardy Boyz were still young and inexperienced in the business. Hence, they were looking for every opportunity to be in a prominent role. This is why, at the time they instantly agreed to such a bizarre idea. The Broken also agreed when the co-host Jon Alba suggested that their trajectory would have been drastically different if these plans had transpired.

Will Matt and Jeff Hardy reunite soon?
In a recent update on Jeff Hardy, it was revealed that the DUI case on him is now closed. The Charismatic Enigma was suspended from AEW last year as a result of the DUI case. Tony Khan has made it clear that Jeff will be allowed to return to the company once he finishes substance abuse treatment.
The ones who are close to Jeff, especially his brother, have given positive updates about him. According to Matt Hardy, his brother Nero is doing “really great.” In addition, his wife is also “super happy” with Jeff’s progress. AEW has given help to wrestlers dealing with addiction issues in the past as well like Jon Moxley. Therefore, a return for Jeff in the company is not out of bounds if everything goes positively.
