Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is currently the top superstar in WWE. With more than 2 years being the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, the Head of the Table has been the face of the company. However this is not the first title reign for Reigns as he has held various championships previously as well but The Big Dog persona didn’t work for the superstar as fans were bored of Reigns been depicted as a babyface again and again.

It took some time but finally Roman got the push he was looking for. His Head of The Table persona finally kicked in and he has been on the top of the mountain ever since then. Reigns recently defeated Drew McIntyre at Clash At The Castle to retain his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

PWI which stands for Pro Wrestling Illustrated is the longest running English professional wrestling magazine. The magazine since 1999 annually publishes it’s PWI500 list which lists the top male wrestlers in a chronological order around the world.

Announcing its list in a tweet PWI posted on Twitter – “As just announced on @BustedOpenRadio, Roman Reigns is again the #1 wrestler in the #PWI500. The 32nd annual “500” list is featured in our latest issue, available now for print preorder at http://pwi-online.com.”

This is the second time Roman Reigns has topped the list, as he had topped the list in 2016 as well. Last Year Roman had managed to rank in the second place. As The Tribal Chief is unlikely to lose his title this year he continues to be positioned at the top.

While Reigns ranked at the top, the NJPW Kazuchika Okada bagged the second position and former WWE star CM Punk was positioned at the third place. While many hailed The Tribal Chief in replies many questioned the criteria for selection.

Some said that Roman defended the championship only 6 times and thus doesn’t deserve the position but also questioned absence of Seth Rollins from the Top 10. Whatever the case might be for now Roman Reigns has topped the list and will continue to dominate the global juggernaut for the time being.
