Why WWE is not punishing Smackdown Superstar Jimmy Uso despite his DUI arrest?

The Usos with The Universal Champion

Smackdown Superstar Jimmy Uso was recently arrested in Pensacola, Florida for driving under the influence (DUI). Additionally, he even ran a red light and was also speeding at 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. Surprisingly, despite all of this, WWE decided not to punish Uso.

Usually, WWE takes some serious actions whenever a Superstar commits such crimes. A penalty or a suspension is usually slapped on them, but nothing of such sort was done to the one half of The Usos.

As per reports from the Wrestling Observer Radio, the storyline involving The Usos with the Universal Champion Roman Reigns is considered to be too important to adjust. As a result of this, no fine or suspension was imposed on Jimmy Uso, in relation to his arrest.

Jimmy Uso was arrested when his Blood Alcohol Concentration came to be .205. As per the law, a person is considered to be legally intoxicated if the number is .08% or higher. If we go by these numbers, had Uso not been a part of an important WWE storyline, he would’ve been heavily fined.

Reportedly, the massive plan that WWE currently has in mind is to involve Roman Reigns and The Usos in a storyline with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. WWE is in no mood to make any slight changes that might consequently affect this, hence Uso got away. Additionally, it would’ve been disappointing for Jimmy to be suspended, just weeks after returning to WWE, after recovering from an injury.

In fact, just a couple of days after his arrest, Jimmy Uso was back on WWE TV, when he appeared in the opening segment of WWE Smackdown with Reigns and Jey Uso. Furthermore, the episode ended with Universal Champion’s current rival, Edge, laying out both the Uso twins.

The Rated-R Superstar Edge will be facing Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WWE Money in the Bank, 2021. The PPV airs live on 18th July, 2021.
