NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa began his second reign after emerging victorious in the Fatal 4-Way match on the first episode of WWE NXT 2.0. He defeated Pete Dunne, LA Knight and Von Wagner in the co-main event to secure the vacant NXT title.
The NXT title was initially lying with Samoa Joe. After being out of action for nearly an year, Joe had defeated Karrion Kross to win the NXT Championship, and the Fatal 4-Way match was initially supposed to be the No.1 Contender’s match. But things took a complete turn when Joe announced on Sunday that he had suffered an injury and had to relinquish the title!
This led to the Fatal 4-Way match being turned into the Championship match for the vacant title. Kyle O’Reilly, Pete Dunne, LA Knight and Tommaso Ciampa. But KOR was unable to compete due to a backstage attack by Dunne and Ridge Holland prior to the match. Von Wagner replaced him in the match.
After a brutal bout, The Blackheart of NXT hit a Fairytale Ending on Von Wagner to kick off his second reign as the NXT Champion. Ciampa is often considered the best Superstar to have held the NXT title and things are certainly going to get interesting with NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa being at the top of the roster once again!
