WWE Smackdown live results – Roman Reigns and Edge face-off – 2 July, 2021

WWE Smackdown live results: This is going to be an episode where a lot of exciting surprises can be expected. The Blue brand has been delivering blockbuster shows, one after the other. This week we can expect another action packed episode with Roman Reigns confronting Edge, who returned last week.

WWE Smackdown live results: Roman Reigns and Edge face-off

Edge kicked off the night by addressing the WWE Universe. Edge began by saying that Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan robbed his opportunity at Wrestlemania 37. He said that he is a master in knocking off obstacles as he has done it throughout his life the Money in the Bank PPV would be no different. He went on to say that deep down both of the superstars know that Edge can beat Roman down and beat him for good. He believes himself to be the guy who has got Roman’s number and he will punish the Tribal Chief mecilessly at the Money in the Bank PPV to become the Universal Champion because he is inevitable.

WWE Smackdown Live results: Jimmy Uso returns

Jimmy calls out Edge and asks the Rated-R Superstar to come out elaborating that this ain’t a trap. Edge comes out and says that Roman used Jey until he made him his bitch and asked jimmy to use his brains. Edge says that this isn’t a trap for him, but this is a trap for Jimmy. Edge rushed down to the ring and attacked Jimmy. Jimmy tried to retaliate with a superkick, but the effect did not last long. Edge locked Jimmy in a crippler cross face and took him down with a devastating Spear.

Edge is not over yet. He went outside, grabbed a steel chair, and took out one of its rods to lock a crippler cross-face on Jimmy reminding us of what he did to Roman Reigns at the Wrestlemania 37 PPV. The episode went off the air with Edge standing tall and a message was sent loud and clear to Roman Reigns.

Otis def. Angelo Dawkins

Dawkins tried to gain an advantage early on as he hit a spinning elbow before Otis caught him. Otis targeted Angelo’s left taped shoulder and slammed it to the corner. Otis repeated the move on the other corner and Angelo Dawkins look nothing and ended the match in no time with two frog splashes from the middle rope.

Liv Morgan def. Zelina Vega

The match begins with Zelina Vega grabbing Liv all around to gain the upper hand. Zelina hit Liv with a running knee. Liv Morgan is back in the offense and quickly rolled up the returning Zelina Vega to pick up a victory.

Big E & Shinsuke Nakamura def. Baron Corbin & Apollo Crews

King Nakamura and Apollo Crews get the match underway. The new KING is enjoying inside the ring and took control of the match early on. He tags in Big E as Corbin also got the tag. Corbin hits a running clothesline outside the ring to floor Big E. Baron Corbin and Big E get back inside the ring with the former beating the latter mercilessly with repetitive elbows. Corbin tagged in Apollo and the Intercontinental Champion has no intentions to stop the punishment. Apollo locks Big E’s face and takes him to the corner while Corbin makes a tag in. Corbin is dominating the proceedings, Rick Boogs announces on the mic that someone’s Mercedes Jeep is being towed. The big screen lit up and it turns out to be Baron Corbin’s Mercedes and it was being towed. This distracts the former King, and Big E wastes no time in hitting him with a Big Ending to wrap up the match.

WWE Smackdown live results: Seth Rollins qualifies for MITB

There are still a couple of spots left to fill on the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Seth Rollins is one of the top contenders to qualify for MITB.

WWE Smackdown Live results: Kevin Owens def. Sami Zayn in a Last Man Standing match

Owens starts the fight with a takedown followed by some punches. He stomps Zayn in the corner and hits the cannonball! Kevin Owens follows Zayn outside the ring and throws him into the barricade. Zayn fights his way back reversing the move and throwing Own into the barricade this time. Owens, back in control and punishes his opponent smashing him into the virtual fans of the ThunderDome!

Owens is showing no mercy and absolutely hammering Zayn with shoulder thrusts in the corner. Kevin kicks the rope into his throat, a big chop results in Sami getting floored. KO follows, picks him up, and puts him into the post spine-first before atomic dropping him groin-first into the same.

Owens looks for more punsihment as he gets a table out and sets it up before setting a second table up right on top of it. Kevin climbs up the ropes and draws Zayn with him. Sami hits the tope con giro after knocking Kevin down to the floor. Back inside, both men exchange grounded and wild punches looking to get the better of each other.

Zayn with the boots up, exploder suplex into the corner but both men are down and out. Getting back on their feet, Owens hits the avalanche fisherman buster. Then hammers Sami with kicks in the corner but Zayn puts KO off the top and through the tables on the floor.

Zayn sets up another table and he throws the announce desk cover at Owens. Zayn gets on the steel steps and then up on the apron but KO tries the stunner which gets blocked. Sami with the suplex but KO makes the count and gets back inside. Sami connects with the Helluva Kick but holds him up and puts him back in.

He tells Owens it’s karma before landing another Helluva Kick but Owens rolls out at nine! Sami goes for the suicide dive tornado DDT but Owens counters with a superkick! Owen hits the stunner and Sami rolls to the floor. Owen hits the apron powerbomb and Sami can’t get up. Owen wins.
