WWE Survivor Series 2021 will be taking place this weekend. It is scheduled to be the penultimate WWE pay per view of the year. For a major part of this year, WWE was forced to air their events live from the WWE Thunderdome, which only had virtual fans in attendance. But when the live audiences returned, WWE looked determined to make it up to the fans.

They started delivering one major PPV after another. Every major event had some major surprise in store for the fans. The returns of John Cena, Brock Lesnar and Becky Lynch were some of the biggest shock moments of the year. But it seems like WWE has lost this steam – at least the build up to WWE Survivor Series 2021 suggests so.

There has been no real build to any of the matches on the card – with the exception of 2 Champion vs Champion matches. The company has focussed more on building rivalries for after the event! But the feud between Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch has benefitted significantly from the real life heat between the two Superstars.

WWE has also released a new featurette titled – WWE’s The Build To: Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair, where both the Champions acknowledge the heat between them.  “The world can talk about how great Charlotte Flair is, she’s lost a step…I don’t like who she’s become, she doesn’t like who I’ve become,” mentioned The Man.

“Not difficult, I’m opinionated and I’m competitive and I’m competitive and I want to be the best day in day out,” said The Queen. The trailer of the featurette features several snippets, where both the Champions can be seen replying to each other.

New Superstars could be added to the WWE Survivor Series 2021 Women’s Team

WWE Survivor Series 2021 will be featuring two 5-on-5 Elimination matches – one each for the men and the women. This year, WWE did away with the qualifier matches and directly announced the teams. But surprisingly, for some reason there have been several disqualifier matches – which result to elimination of Team members!

Aliyah was the latest victim to these disqualifications. She recently made her debut on the Blue brand, opening her account with a pinfall victory. But unfortunately, moments later she was removed from the team by Sonya Deville. Her replacement is yet to be announced.
