Becky Lynch is one of the biggest Superstars in WWE today. Considered to be one of the highest paid wrestlers in the world, she has been with the company since 2013. Initially she performed on NXT but soon moved to the main roster and went on to become the inaugural Smackdown Women’s Champion.

Big Time Becks is a 6-time World Champion, having won the Smackdown Women’s Championship four times and is currently in her second reign as the Raw Women’s Champion. While her run on WWE is well known to the fans, her journey prior to her signing with WWE isn’t known. She had started training to become a professional wrestler in Ireland, way back in 2002. Back then, The Man used to wrestle under the ring name of Rebecca Knox.

As Lynch started gaining popularity, she started performing across Europe and North America, on the independent circuit. Unfortunately, in 2006 Becky Lynch suffered a serious head injury and had to stay away from the ring for several years before making a comeback in 2012. When she joined WWE, Lynch quickly became a fan favorite and was considered to be one of the “Four Horsewomen” of WWE. Charlotte Flair, Bayley and Sasha Banks were the other three.

Despite of delivering some brutal bouts together, where they could push their opponent to the limits, the Four Horsewomen shared a close bond with each other in real life. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair especially were best of friends outside the ring. But close to the WWE Draft and the 2021 Survivor Series, their differences became quite glaring. Flair, infamously, outrightly disrespected The Man during their title exchange segments.

Lynch wasn’t going to stay put and had shoved The Queen, leading to one of the most awkward WWE segments of 2021. In fact, in response to a question, during the SI Media Podcast, Becky Lynch outrightly mentioned that she did not trust Charlotte Flair anymore! “We don’t talk anymore. We don’t talk. So all I’ll say is the locker room needs a hero sometimes. And sometimes somebody’s gotta be a hero. I’m all right being that hero. …When there’s hostility, when you can’t trust the person, then you never know what’s going to happen. You always have to be on guard. It’s like a game of chess. You have to be thinking two steps, three steps, four steps ahead. What are they gonna do? How am I gonna handle it?“

Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair collided at Survivor Series

On-screen, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch have collided on several occasions. But Survivor Series 2021 marked the first time when they had collided with some real-life heat between them. By virtue of being Champions, two of the top women in the professional wrestling industry collided and Lynch managed to walk out as the winner. While the match was great, the entire feud garnered immense interest from the fans.

Since then, Flair and Lynch have been focussed on the the feuds on their respective brands. Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will be facing Doudrop at Royal Rumble. Interestingly, Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will not be putting the title on the line, but entering the Women’s Royal Rumble match. In case Flair manages to win the match, another massive Lynch vs Flair bout could be in store for us!
