In today’s era, if anywhere, anyone is discussing tennis Roger Federer is the name that goes simultaneously. Federer, till date, is considered to be one of the most successful players in the history of tennis. He has amazed everyone with his immense performance throughout his career and has won a number of big titles.
However, there is always failure before success and to achieve something that incredible you first have to sacrifice many things.
Current World No.4 has shared how his early days of tennis were like, in a recent interview with Die Zeit.
Talking about support from his family, Roger said, “I’ve my parents asked if it’s okay for me to finish school. My father said to me: ‘you have exactly two or three years. If you don’t get well, you go straight back to the school.”
He told how his parents spent a lot of money on him to get better in tennis. Roger then went in saying that he accepted his father’s deal as he knew somewhere that he can achieve wonders.
He then mentioned that ”how fortunate it was that I turned out to be the right by quickly becoming the world No.1 among the juniors”.
Of Course there is no doubt that the Swiss maestro made the right decision and we got our all time legend.
Unfortunately, right now Roger is recovering from his second knee surgery and will skip 2020 season in order to recover fully and will be making a return in 2021.
Every Roger fan is heartily waiting for 2021 so that they can see Federer once again and hoping that he picks more Slam titles.
